Linsley Family History and GenealogyThis is a history of the Linsley and related families. It currently contains information on twelve generations of Linsleys, eight generations of the Hardman family, and a substantial amount of information on the Fell family. It also contains some information on the Law, Daniels and Noderer families. The Phippen (Fitz Payne) family is of particular interest to me, as they are my earliest known ancestors. (Very little information about this family is in this database at this time, but a great deal should be added with the next update.) Currently, 2409 people representing 523 surnames (including spelling variations) appear in the history. At present, it consists primarily of information compiled by other family members or obtained from published sources. In particular, Albert J. Hardman provided information on the history of the Hardman family for a 1940 newspaper article, and Albert F. Hardman compiled a supplement in 1972. Hacker's Creek Pioneer Descendants is also an excellent source of information on the Hardmans and related families. Most of the information on the Linsley family came from The History of the Lindley - Lindsley - Linsley Families in America: 1639 - 1924, by John M. Lindly. Fell family information came from Genealogy of the Fell Family in America Descended from Joseph Fell, Who Settled in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, 1705: With Some Account of the Family Remaining in England, &c. by Sarah M. Fell and from unpublished research notes given to me by Nancy Jackson. This database contains information about persons who are still alive. To protect their privacy, in most cases the information which will be displayed is very limited. Additional information may be made available to family members or legitimate genealogical researchers; see the help page section on Privacy of Living Persons for details. This is very much a work-in-progress. I know a few of the links and image maps don't work quite right, yet. Also, if you are using an older browser which only supports server-side image maps, they don't work at all. Some of them don't even exist, yet. Be patient, I'm working on them as fast as I can. Check back often; I'm updating these pages frequently, sometimes even daily. So far, most of the information comes from secondary sources; little has been verified with primary sources. Not all of the sources have been documented as well as I would like. I also have a large quantity of data that is still awaiting entry into the database. I hope, eventually, to include more of my wife's family in here, too. I hope you find this information useful. Remember, however, that this is just a snapshot of one researcher's work. As with any secondary source, none of it should be assumed to be true until you have verified it with primary sources. If you have additional information related to any of the families included here, please contact me. I would also like to hear from you if you find any of this information useful.
